RANGELY I Korryn Wenzel, a Colorado Connections Academy ninth grade student from Rangely, was recently accepted to the National USA Volleyball team’s (usavolleyball.org) skill camp.
Wenzel will be heading to Sonoma, Calif., July 19-23 for the National A3 Skill Camp. Participants of this camp are extremely talented and dedicated as they start their journey early within the USA pipeline.
The girls are on track to be successful as the future athletes of USA Volleyball.
Wenzel was on three waiting lists for camps across the country (Colorado Springs, Las Vegas and Sonoma), and served as an alternate. She made the cut when a spot became available in Sonoma.

Wenzel started playing volleyball in the third grade through the Western Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation & Park Center in Rangely.
In the sixth grade, she started playing for her area school and joined the United Volleyball Club of the Rockies.
Wenzel is a self-motivated student and plays anywhere from 10-14 hours of volleyball a week, during the school year. She plays three to six games a day when she plays and travels for her volleyball club. This is in addition to the hour she spends getting to practice and back.
The flexibility she has as a student with Colorado Connections Academy ensures that she stays on track with her schoolwork, and she has developed a well-rounded relationship with her teachers.
