Two adults charged with providing alcohol to minors in Meeker

On Saturday, Aug. 20 at approximately 12:23 a.m., the Rio Blanco County Communications Center received a report of a very intoxicated juvenile who was in the emergency room at Pioneers Medical Center in Meeker, Colo. Both Meeker Police Department and the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office responded to Pioneers Medical Center to investigate. Through the investigation, it was found that the juvenile and several others were partying in the Town Limits of Meeker and another location in Rio Blanco County. The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office issued summonses to three juveniles for minor in possession of alcohol. The Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office continued to investigate who provided the alcohol to the juveniles. After numerous follow-ups and interviews the Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants for Samantha Quinteros, 37, and Brandy Crabill, 36, for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and unlawful acts liquor law violation Both suspects turned themselves in to the Rio Blanco County Detentions Center and were arrested and booked on their warrants and they both bonded shortly thereafter. Rio Blanco County Sheriff Anthony Mazzola said, “The Sheriff’s Office is extremely concerned about underaged drinking and especially teenager drinking and driving related events. While no one at this incident drove a vehicle, most of the teens at the party were over the legal limit for driving while intoxicated. “Those who provide alcohol to minors are committing a crime and can later be held responsible for a teen’s behavior while intoxicated. It is important to remember that providing alcohol, or any drug, to teenagers is against the law. The consequences of teenage intoxication can be devastating—please help us keep kids sober and safe.”
