Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection through Nov. 20

MEEKER | Shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child will be collected through Nov. 20 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Meeker. Suggested items include toiletries and personal hygiene items like toothpaste, soap, and hair combs, socks, mittens, hats, school supplies and a “wow” toy or two for each box. No chocolate, liquids, military or war-related (including camouflage items) are permitted, as many of the recipients live in war-torn regions. There are three age groups. Labels and boxes are available at the LAI/Meeker Spirit/Meeker Embroidery store at the corner of Fifth and Main (the former office supply store).
