Deloris Rae Gadd (Dunn) Dembowski

“Sis” was born on March 29, 1930, in Vernal, Utah, to William Earl and Ivia Mott Gadd. Deloris passed at her home on Sept. 12, 2017, after a 7-1/2 year battle with cancer.
She lived her childhood in LaPoint, Utah, and later near Blue Mountain, Colo., at Pop’s Place. She attended grade school in LaPoint and Twin Wash, Colo. Her high school years were in Maybell and Craig, Colo.
On April 27, 1946, she married Donald Dean Dunn in Craig. Two children were born into that union: Donna Rae Weigand of Fruita, Colo., in 1947, and Douglas Wayne of Vernal in 1951. After Don’s untimely death in 1979, she married Bernard Vance Stephenson in 1981. Bernie passed in 1984 after a long illness. In 1988, she married Frank Lewis Dembowski until his passing in 2015.
Deloris had been a homemaker and a waitress, as well as a parts lady and pilot car driver for Colorado Well Service in Rangely.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings: Bill and Bob Gadd, Eva Christensen, June Sherrill and Romona (Polly) Karren, and several nephews and nieces.
She is survived by both her children, daughter-in-law Ruth, grandchildren Darin Fogg (Pam) of Honolulu, Daveena Foos of Cheyenne, Wyo., Deanna McIntyre of Vernal, Rashael Hansen (William) of Vernal and Carissa Magee (J.D.) of Vernal. Nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also survive. Many Dembowski children were important in her life as well, and especially Scott and Missy, Kastyne and Lander, Aaron, Sylvia and Justine, and Amber.
Interment was at the Rangely Cemetery following services at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral chapel in Vernal on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. (410 North 800 West). Online condolences may be shared at AshleyValleyFuneralHome.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Good Shepherd Home Care and Hospice, 266 West 100 North, Vernal, Utah, 84078.
