The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.
Jan. 15-21, 2018
The dispatch center processed 374 phone calls, receiving 12 911 calls, answered 52 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 68 outgoing phone calls. A total of 131 calls for service were created, 82 for the Sheriff’s Office, 52 for MPD, and nine calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. (Please note the department breakdown of calls reflects a different number because of incidents with multiple agency response). There were three auto crashes reported throughout the county none involving elk or deer.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 38 traffic stops issuing seven summons, while MPD had 16 stops issuing warnings on all.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 16 agency assists, two animal calls, nine motorist assists, one traffic crash, three traffic complaints, two warrant arrests and one each: alarm, civil papers served, business check, juvenile problem, traffic crash and VIN inspection.
MPD calls included six agency assists, two 911 misdials, five animal calls, five business checks, six citizen assists, two traffic complaints and one each: alarm, assault, civil, DUI, fraud, motorist assist, suspicious incident, theft, traffic accident and VIN inspection.
There were nine calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue. One traffic crash, medical transport, assist MPD, four ambulance calls and three small brush fires.
There were three assists for Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in nine and released four. Two arrested by MPD, three from Rangely Police Department and four by the Sheriff’s Office and are currently housing 11 inmates. There were no inmate transports to or from other facilities.
There was one DUI arrest.
