Glen O. Sutton aka ‘The Dinosaur Man’

Glen Oliver Sutton passed away at the age of 89. He was born to Glen D. and Doris Sutton in New Castle, Colo., on July 6, 1928. Glen served in the United States Marine Corps.
Glen spent nearly all of his life working and raising his family in northwestern Colorado. He liked to fish, hunt and trap and was extremely good at them. He loved hiking the hills and mountains with his family and friends. When Glen was a young boy his family moved to Una near Parachute. The only way to get to Grand Junction was by train or wagon. They lived there five years and then moved to Meeker. Glen graduated high school in Meeker. When he returned from serving in the Marine Corps he married Sue Cook and they moved to Rangely where they raised their three children. Glen worked for the Texas Oil Co., and later retired with Chevron Oil Co. He started out as a pumper and became an electronic specialist. Televisions were just coming to Rangely and Glen became the first TV repairman. He was also a partner of the Gambles store in Rangely and remodeled several apartments. Glen spent many days digging bones of various dinosaurs and helping others do the same. He had a vast knowledge of the earth’s geological layers and Native American history.
Glen will always be remembered as a gentleman with a soft voice and kind 
words. He will be sorely missed by many.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Kay, Connie and Wilma; a brother, George; his wife, Ada Fay (Sue) Sutton; and a son; Wesley Glen Sutton.
Glen is survived by his brother, Raymond (Jeri) Sutton and his sister Mary (Tom) Pilkington; his daughters Linda (Scott) Brynildson and Janet (Ed) Ogden; ten grandchildren and 19-plus great-grandchildren, and his dear friend and companion Frances Lewis. Godspeed.
