RANGELY — On Aug. 21 and 22 the 2009 Rio Blanco Relay for Life is scheduled to be held in Rangely.
Now is the time to plan, get organized, fund raise, get teams organized and get ready to have fun at this year’s relay.
This year’s co-chair with Leana Cox is Paul Hillard, a new and enthusiastic leader. Planning meetings started last week with two more planning meetings scheduled for March 5 and March 26 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the CNCC library on the Rangely campus. Committee members are still needed, including people to head up sponsorship, team development and accounting committees.
Thursday, April 16 is the date for the “kickoff meeting.” The purpose of this meeting is to sign up teams, hand out captain kits and recruit more volunteers. Teams that register by the kickoff date get a reduction in their registration cost.
The theme for this year’s event is “Super” Heroes. For more information, to sign up a team or to contribute, go to www.rangelyrelayforlife.com. Or contact Paul Hillard at 970-629-8403 (local for Rangely and Meeker). Get involved — make a difference in the fight against cancer!
