RBC | Associated Governments of Northwest Colorado (AGNC) is continuing its public engagement phase in the development of a Regional Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) and will host a regional meeting on July 25, 2018, at the Colorado Mountain College Rifle Campus, 3695 Airport Rd., Rifle, Colo., beginning at 10 a.m. The regional CEDS is the final component needed to complete AGNC’s application for designation by the Economic Development Administration (EDA) as an Economic Development District (EDD).
AGNC has been working on the development of the CEDS document since the fourth quarter of 2017 and has sought extensive input from all sectors across the five-county region over that time. The meeting on July 25, 2018, will focus on the goals, strategies and measurement components of the CEDS. All those involved or interested in the goals derived from the region are encouraged to attend and provide input to this portion of the plan.
The final regional meeting and the beginning of a 30-day comment period will take place on Aug. 10, 2018, at the Grand River Hospital District, 501 Airport Rd., Rifle, Colo., beginning at 10 a.m. Information related to the CEDS document, including individual county data used to determine the eligibility of the region, can be found on AGNC’s website, www.agnc.org/ceds. The goals, strategies and measurements can also be found on the website. Effective Aug. 10, 2018, the CEDS document will be available on the website and comments will be taken until close of business Sept. 10, 2018.
After the conclusion of the public comment period, the CEDS document will be finalized and submitted to the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for review and approval.
