It is with great sadness that the family of Daniel Gordon announces his passing on Aug. 25, 2018. Dan passed away at home at the age of 86, on his mother’s birthday, surrounded by his family.
Dan will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 35 years Ronda Gordon, his daughters Donna (Bobo) Espinosa, Linda Gordon and Patty Gordon, his step-children Greg (Martha) Zielinski, Tony Zielinski, John (Sara) Zielinski, Chris (Alane) Zielinski, Alicia (Rob) Trego and son-in-law Scott (Julie) Dawson. Also, by his grandchildren Robert (Sarah) Espinosa, Keith (Jay) Espinosa, Tyler Gordon, Courtney Jetton, Eric (Brittany) Jetton, Chanley Jetton, Haley (Jon) Trego, Whitney Zielinski, Jace Zielinski, Fernando Gomez and Corrie Bollendorf, his great-grandchildren Caleb E., Aiden, Tegan, Anthony, Caleb L., Marcus, Lily, Violet and Brantley, his nephew Mark Gordon, and the mother of his daughters Rita Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Jessie (Osborn) Gordon, his siblings Gerry and Beatrice and his beloved daughter Diane Dawson.
Dan was born in Omaha, Neb., in 1931. When he was a small child his family moved to California where his father was stationed in the U.S. Navy, before relocating to Denver, Colo. After graduating from Brighton High School in 1950 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. During the Korean War, Dan was stationed in Thule, Greenland, for two years and spent the rest of his military career in Massachusetts. After his discharge he returned to Denver and became a master plumber with Local 3 for 45 years. Upon retirement he and Ronda moved to Rangely, Colo., for many years before recently returning to Denver for health reasons.
A memorial service will be held for Dan on Sept. 24, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver Colo., (if attending memorial, please arrive by 10:15 a.m. – staging area B). A celebration of Dan’s life will be held immediately following at The Manor House, 1 Manor House Road, Littleton, Colo. The family has requested that you wear bright clothes and big smiles!
