Evon Frances Tarbet
July 11, 1963 ~ Nov. 5, 2018

Evon Frances Tarbet, 55, passed away Nov. 5, 2018, in Meeker, Colo. Memorial services will be held at The Church at Meeker, 1032 Jennifer Dr., in Meeker at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018. A celebration of Evon’s life will be held next summer on her birthday.
She was born July 11, 1963, to Josie and LeRoy Valentine in Meeker, Colo. Evon grew up and attended schools in Meeker until 1981. She later moved to Elko, Nev., where she met the love of her life, Dale Tarbet. They then moved to Carlin, Nev., in 1992 where they raised their children.
Evon and Dale married May 10, 1996, and had a rendezvous wedding May 31, 1996, in Riverton, Wyo. Evon lived life to the fullest being a housewife and raising her children. She fiercely loved her family and was a proud grandmother of eight grandbabies. One of her favorite things to do was take them driving on dirt roads and down to the river to go swimming.
Evon and her husband enjoyed the outdoors, attending rendezvous and camping in the wilderness. She had an unbelievable connection to nature and absolutely loved animals (especially horses). She was artistically talented beyond measure and loved teaching her children her traits.
She deeply enjoyed music, as it soothed her soul. As a child, she played the clarinet in the school band and the guitar when she was a teenager. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed serving people, her labor of love. Evon had a free spirit that could light up any room and a heart of gold. She would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She was loved by many people.
Evon is preceded in death by her brother, Clint Valentine; father, LeRoy Valentine; and her grandparents.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Tarbet; mother, Josie Pattee; daughters: Josie June, Jessie Wilcox and Stephanie Tarbet; and a son, Tyler Tarbet. She is further survived by eight grandchildren: Eva June, Nathan June, Alyssa Shinn, Tyson Shinn, Myka Gallegos, Oryon Gallegos, Landyn Gallegos and Dallin Tarbet; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, one niece and two nephews.
