Meeker head wrestling coach J.C. Watt (center) addressed about one-half of his team last Monday on the first official night of wrestling practice with his full coaching staff in force behind him. Coach Watt said he expected about 25 wrestlers to join the team after several take a few days off after the football season. Watt will again be assisted by Carl Padilla, who has been involved with the Meeker wrestling program for 25 years, and former MHS graduate and state champion Tyrell Turner. The Cowboys will also get help from Meeker’s new dentist Trevor Grant, an Arizona two-state high school champion and college All-American for the University of Southern Colorado, as well as Fowler High School graduate and state champion Brandon Grasmick, who works for ERBM Recreation and Parks District.
