Sylvia E. Marsh

Sylvia E. Marsh, longtime resident of Meeker, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15. She was 95 years of age.
Mrs. Marsh was born to the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Myers in Jefferson, Missouri on June 26, 1914. Funeral services will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home in Meeker on Aug. 24 at 10 a.m., with Pastor Paul Lehman officiating.
Sylvia worked for the Rio Blanco County for 30 plus years before retiring in 1990. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Sylvia was married to Frank Marsh on Jan. 12, 1953, in Craig.
Grandma, you will be missed by everyone who has ever had the privilege of meeting you. All of the stories you always told about the good old days, of riding a wagon for a day to go to a dance, or about the outlaws coming through Browns Park and staying with you and your family. You were always up for a trip, even if you slept the whole way, it did not matter where to, as long as the words, “I think we may be lost,” never came up. We were in Vegas and missed a turn, and I said those magic words, and you were more than willing to tell us where to go, even though you had never been there before in your life! You were always ready to go fishing or hunting, as long as it wasn’t on the ocean. Then in the later years, some of the phone calls I would get at work about your car, or the Mexicans living on the boat. They just had to make you laugh. You never knew a stranger and never let anyone go without a meal.
I would like to thank Connie, Eshlay, Amanda Ross, Hope, and family for all that they have done to help with Grandma, and the love you all showed her. Thanks to everyone for all the help with Grandma, she will be missed, but forever remembered in our hearts.
