RBC dispatch year-in-review

RBC | The dispatch center processed 25,008 phone calls this last year, answering 1,342 911 calls, answered 3,125 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 6,231 outgoing phone calls. A total of 7,151 calls for service were created: 3,879 for the Sheriff’s Office, 3,233 for MPD, 414 calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue and assisted Colorado State Patrol on 197 calls.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to 4,121 calls, 69 911 calls, 17 abandoned vehicles, 21 alarms, 292 animal calls, three assaults, 179 assists with Colorado State Patrol, 102 assists with Meeker Fire and Rescue, 68 assists with other agencies, 34 assists with Rangely Fire, 12 with Rangely Ambulance, 10-9 with Rangely Police Department, 244 civil papers served, 14 attended deaths, four ATV accidents, three burglaries, 99 business checks, one child abuse case, 92 citizen assists, 39 civil, five criminal mischief, 24 disturbances, 13 domestic violence calls, 27 DUI arrests, 49 fires, 15 fire ban violations, 10 fraud cases, one funeral escort, one gas skip, nine harassment, two hazmat incidents, three illegal dumping, 12 jail incidents, 14 juvenile calls, two minor in possession of alcohol, two littering, six M-1 transports, five missing person reports, 180 motorist assists, two narcotics cases, one parking violation, 17 property cases, 12 protections order violations, 41 ranch checks, 18 search and rescue events, three sex assaults, two shootings, two suicides, 147 suspicious incidents, one sexual offender verification, 335 traffic stops.
Meeker Police Department responded to 3,373 calls including 94 911 calls, six abandoned vehicles, 40 alarms, 302 animal calls, one arson, six assaults, 19 assists with Colorado State Patrol, 116 with Meeker Fire and Rescue, 43 with other agencies, 52 with Rio Blanco Sheriff’s Office, nine attended deaths, three auto thefts, two burglaries, 502 business checks, four child abuse cases, 185 citizen assists, 80 civil calls, 15 code enforcement, 17 criminal mischief, 48 disturbances, 18 domestic violence calls, had or assisted with 19 DUI arrests, four fire calls, 10 fire ban violations, one assist with BLM fire, 13 fraud cases, seven funeral escorts, seven gas skips, 27 harassment, three illegal dumping calls, 71 juvenile issues, five minor in possession of alcohol, two littering, nine M-1 transports, six missing persons, 102 motorist assists, four narcotics calls, 19 parking violations, one probation violation, two residential alerts, 17 restraining order violations, six sex assaults, 18 snow removal complaints, two suicides, 161 suspicious incidents, 47 thefts, two tobacco violations, 48 traffic accidents, nine traffic arrests, 61 traffic complaints, 15 traffic hazards, eight trespass calls, six unattended deaths, one vice call, 135 VIN inspections, 26 warrants arrests and 846 traffic stops.
Meeker Fire and Rescue responded to 436 calls. 205 ambulance/fire requests, 16 alarms, one arson, one ATV accident, two disturbances, three domestic violence, two DUI’s, 21 fire calls, assisted BLM on 12 additional fire calls, one hazmat incident, 113 medical transports, four search and rescue events, two suicides, 37 traffic accidents, two attended deaths and six unattended deaths.
Rio Blanco County Detentions facility booked in 332 subjects, 246 males and 86 females of which 304 were released, adding up to 5,429 inmate days. Colorado State Patrol arrested 14, Meeker PD arrested 63, Rangely PD with 64 and the Sheriff’s Office had a total of 191 arrests.
