Floyd Gary Robbins

Floyd Gary Robbins 83, passed away Jan. 22, 2019. He was born Jan. 11, 1936, in Vernal, Utah, a son of Floyd Jesse Robbins and LaVone Ellen Boren.
Gary had three sisters, Opal Robbins Massey, Veyon Robbins Wagner and Marva Jean Robbins Leatham.
Gary attended Maeser Elementary School in Vernal, Utah, for a short time before the family moved to Colorado. He went to school at the one-room school house in Thornburg. He attended Meeker High School, where he played basketball, football, where he graduated. Some of Gary’s fondest memories were in Thornburg on the Fred and Edna Winslett Ranch.
He was a Korean War veteran.
Gary was married to Uldene Blevins for 43 years. He was a father to Uldene’s children: Jeff Andrews, Amy Andrews, Jill Adams and Julee James. He had five daughters: Lavonne “Marie” Cone, Vicky L. Gurule, JoAnn Hunter, Lenna S. Key, and Amber Beach. He worked at many things to make a living: semi truck driver, heavy equipment operator and supervisor of a coal mine in Carbondale, Ill. His favorite job was the sheep business, he purchased with his father. They spent time with the sheep in Utah and Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Opal Robbins Massey. He had 19 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Jan. 26, 2019, at the Meeker Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 11 a.m.
He was buried at Highland Cemetery in Meeker.
