On Friday the lady Panthers traveled to North Park for a league match. The Panthers played well and closed the gap to get within two but ended up falling to the Wildcats by 13. Hannah Wilkie led all scorers with 17, followed by Thacker with nine, Wiley, Scoggins and Miller each added eight, and Cochrane with a pair of free throws to round out the scoring.
Saturday the Panthers hosted the Paonia Eagles. We came out to a great start and led at halftime 36-12. “Super proud of our girls’ defense once again and we are shooting the ball with confidence,” said head coach Jimmie Mergelman.
The Panthers have a big weekend up ahead with West Grand on Thursday, DeBeque on Friday and then home against Caprock for senior night on Saturday.
