RANGELY | On May 15 the Rangely Jr./Sr. High School baseball team held its awards banquet and enjoyed a steak dinner prepared by team parents. The Panthers, coached by Jeremy Lohry, Jerry LeBleu and Ryan Wilkie, improved to a 7-10 record this season.

Lohry, who attended the All Conference meeting the day before, said it was “apparent that other teams are starting to see Rangely as a force to be reckoned with.”

He thanked the seniors for sticking with the program and the parents who traveled to the games. He also thanked the Rangely Booster Club for buying four new bats this year and providing team dinners. LeBleu donated extra money to cover the cost of the bats. Lohry thanked Bart Nielsen and LeBleu for driving the team to games and recognized his family and the other coaches for sacrificing family time during the season.

Freshmen Byron Mackay and Braxton Moore were recognized for their participation on the team this year. The following team members lettered in baseball during the 2019 season: freshmen Justin Cudo and Keihlin Myers; juniors Tytus Coombs and Dylan LeBleu (top 10 strikeouts in the state with 90); seniors Grady Nielsen, CJ Lucero and Drew Brannan (who led the team in RBIs), Stetson Cudo and Tristan Moore (who led the team in hitting—467 average—with 28 hits).

Keihlin Myers earned the Rookie of the Year Award. The Most Improved Player was Tytus Coombs. Stetson Cudo was awarded the Silver Slugger award.

Dylan LeBleu was the Most Valuable Player and the Donnie Collins Award was presented to Tristan Moore.

Grady Nielsen, Tytus Coombs and Dylan LeBleu were honored with the First Team Colorado All State Awards.

First Team All Conference Awards were presented to Stetson Cudo, Dylan LeBleu and Tristan Moore (for the third year in a row).

LeBleu honored Lohry with the CHSAA Western Slope League Coach of the Year award.

Congratulations to the Rangely Jr./Sr. High baseball team.

Stetson Cudo, Tristan Moore and Dylan LeBleu received First Team All-Conference awards.
