The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. Meeker Dispatch Center administered 472 phone calls last week including 24 911 calls, 59 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 129 outgoing calls. A total of 209 calls for service were created, 123 for the Sheriff’s Office, 78 for mPD and 13 assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 39 traffic stops, issued six citations. MPD had 16 stops issuing 15 warnings. Highway 13 had nine traffic stops issuing three citations.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 28 agency assists, three 911 hang ups, two alarms, four animal calls, three attempts to serve civil papers, two citizen assists, two juvenile problems, three motorist assists, five suspicious incidents, two thefts, two traffic complaints, three traffic hazards, eight VIN inspections and one each: attended death, business check, Fraud, harassment, jail incident, M-1 transport, property, traffic accident and trespass.
Meeker Police Department calls included five agency assists, one 911 hangup, two alarms, 13 animal calls, 15 business checks, five citizen assists, two harassment, five suspicious incidents, two traffic accidents, three VIN inspections and one each: assault, DUI, juvenile problem, M-1 transport, motorist assist, theft, traffic complaint.
There were six calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including four ambulance requests, two medical transfers.
There were two assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detention facility booked in four, one by the Sheriff’s Office, one by MPD and two from RPD. Four inmates were released. Deputies conducted five transports to or from another facility and currently there are 12 inmates in the facility.
One DUI arrest by MPD and three traffic crashes were reported in the county.
