The following information is a weekly review of the calls for service that were reported to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Communications Office. If you have any questions or would like an explanation of the call types listed please call 878-9600. We will not regularly post any information as to the names or addresses on any incident.

Meeker Dispatch Center administered 522 phone calls last week including 20 911 calls, 63 calls for Meeker Police Department (MPD) and placed 166 outgoing calls. A total of 180 calls for service were created, 93 for the Sheriff’s Office, 73 for MPD and five assists with Rangely Police Department (RPD). (Please note the department breakdown of calls may reflect a different number because of incidents with multiple agency responses).
The Sheriff’s Office conducted 10 traffic stops and issued two citations. MPD had seven stops issuing three citations. Highway 13 had two traffic stops issuing warnings.
Other calls for the Sheriff’s Office included 15 agency assists, three 911 hang ups, 10 animal calls, two business checks, five citizen assists, four BLM wildland fires, two funeral escorts, two K-9 deployments, seven motorist assists, six suspicious incidents, nine VIN inspections, three warrant arrests and one each: assault, attempt to serve, attended death, civil, MIP, parking violation, restraining order violation, sexual assault, traffic crash.
MPD calls included nine agency assists, four 911 hangups, three alarms, six animal calls, 12 business checks, four citizen assists, two funeral escorts, eight suspicious incidents, two thefts, two traffic accidents, 10 VIN inspections and one each: criminal mischief, harassment, juvenile problem, MIP, sex assault.
There were five calls for Meeker Fire and Rescue including one ambulance request, two alarms, assault, one medical transfer,
There were five assists with Colorado State Patrol.
Rio Blanco Detentions facility booked in seven, five by the Sheriff’s Office, one each by Colorado State Patrol and RPD. Eight inmates were released. Deputies conducted three transports to or from another facility and currently there are 13 inmates in the facility.
Seven traffic crashes were reported in the county, two involving car/deer and one with minor injuries.
