MEEKER | WREA will continue to provide satellite internet service to customers even though longtime servicemen Pete Larson retires on July 31. Please continue to call WREA at 970-878-5041 with any satellite internet questions or issues. WREA has begun the planning process to transition out of the satellite internet business and is working with the local internet providers in this transition. In recent years, WREA has worked closely with Rio Blanco County to support its Broadband Project to help get internet services out into the rural areas. “WREA has entered into agreements with Rio Blanco County to utilize WREA’s extensive fiberoptic network with the clear intention that it would end up serving our existing satellite customers,” said WREA General Manager Alan Michalewicz. “It is all about providing service to our membership. And with these options it is now time for WREA to begin the transition out of the satellite business.” WREA will keep its members posted on the transition process and send details to all satellite customers in the coming months.
