Paul David Mayerle

Oct. 23, 1956 ~ Oct. 7, 2019

Paul David Mayerle, 62, passed away on Oct. 7, 2019, at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Paul was born in Denver on Oct. 23, 1956, the second son of Paul R. Mayerle and Colleen Jean (Atkinson) Mayerle. He graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1974. He married Karen Sue Jacobs on Sept. 4, 1976, at the home of her parents in Brighton, Colorado. To this union were born two children:  Daniel Lee in 1977 and Heather Marie in 1979. The family initially made their home in Littleton, Colorado, but life in the big city was not for Paul. In 1993 he moved his family to Meeker, Colorado, to raise his family and enjoy his favorite activities in the Rocky Mountains.

Paul was an avid fisherman and big game hunter. He was also a multi-talented craftsman with innate mechanical abilities. He built himself a motorcycle and attended annual motorcycle rallies in Sturgis, North Dakota. He rebuilt engines of all kinds, enjoyed woodworking and creating metal yard art. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could repair anything. He had several professions, including firefighter, dry wall finisher, big rig owner and operator and welder. With his witty sense of humor, he easily made friends and cherished spending time with family and friends.

He moved to Lake Havasu City in 2015, but would return to Grand Lake, Colorado, for vacations to go hunting with his son, fishing with his sisters, or just enjoying summer in the mountains that he loved.

Paul was predeceased by his parents and older brother Dennis. Paul is survived by his wife Karen; son Daniel and wife Mary of Meeker; daughter Heather and fiancé Chantry West of Grand Junction; grandchildren Miranda (Gage) Webb, Noah Mayerle, Andrea and Ethan Langstaff and Rhianna Russell; great-grandson Ankhur Mayerle; sisters Leanne (Mike) Harvey and Marilyn (Doug) Brader; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

No services are planned per his request.
