On the evening of Oct. 23, a lucky few attended the Thomas Helton, Bill Aspinwall and The Eben G. Fine Band performance at the Rangely Jr./Sr. High School auditorium. This was the finale concert for the Tank Center for Sonic Arts 2019 season. The Eben G. Fine Band was in Rangely recording at the Tank and later offered up a free, earthy, delightful performance to concert-goers singing well known classic rock, bluegrass, blues, and Americana numbers. The musicians hail from Texas, Leadville and the Colorado Front Range. Lead singer Bill Aspinwall (in the red shirt) was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado. Currently residing in Texas, Aspinwall is a Houston area singer/songwriter and guitarist. He’s been honored by the Houston Songwriters Association as Songwriter of the Year and for Song of the Year. Ever mindful of the healing power of music, he’s mentored returned soldiers as a volunteer guitar instructor through Guitars for Vets.
