WREA reminder: be vigilant for scams

MEEKER | White River Electric Association (WREA) reminds residents not to fall victim to several types of scams with regard to your electric bill, including threats to shut off your power and/or legal action. WREA employees will never show up at your door to demand payment. They will always encourage you to contact the office to pay or make a payment arrangement. Never give personal information to an unknown caller or visitor via phone or email. WREA representatives have access to the details they need to service your account. Demands for immediate payment by wire transfer, cryptocurrency, gift cards or cash reload cards should immediately raise red flags.
