Aug. 17, 1960 ~ June 4, 2020
Shelby Dylan Adams, 59, passed away on June 4, 2020, at his home in Rangely, Colorado, surrounded by his family. He had a long battle with prostate cancer and a short battle with lung cancer.
Shelby was born to Franklin and Shirley Adams on Aug. 17, 1960. He married Jimmye London on Oct. 28, 1982. Together they raised seven children.
Shelby went to school in Haileyville, Oklahoma. Shelby had an enormous heart and was always helping people. Shelby enjoyed gardening, fishing, listening to music, working outside and camping.
He spent some of his time volunteering at the Rangely Food Bank. He enjoyed laughing and being with his family. He would help anyone in any way he could. Shelby affected numerous lives and will forever put a smile on our faces.
He is survived by his wife Jimmye Adams, Children: Shelby (Megan) Brown, Tabatha (John) McClord, Izieak (Andrea) Adams, Chelsea Carson, J.D. (Sage) Neft, Erika (Nathan) Stoeckel; grandchildren: Shelby Carson, Riley Carson, Kyler Buhler, Heather Walker, Rachel Walker, Ian Walker, Jackson Neft, Sophia Neft and Nevach Stoeckel; brothers and sisters; several aunts and uncles, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son Thomas Adams and his parents Franklin and Shirley Adams.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, June 9, 2020, at 3 p.m. at the Rangely Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends was held Monday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home (410 North 800 West) in Vernal.
