Trick-or-treat at the White River Museum

MEEKER | Trick-or-treaters young and old are invited to stop by the White River Museum on Saturday, Oct. 31 for some “night at the museum” style Halloween fun from 5-7 p.m.

Walbridge Wing Halloween Parade Oct. 31

MEEKER | The Walbridge Wing will be hosting a Halloween Parade “weather-permitting” on Oct. 31 from 4-5:30 p.m. If you can please bring your ghosts and goblins…and lots of princesses up to the parking lot of the main entrance. Please stay safe, and take your time to walk up the road with them at a 6 ft. distance. Wave, say hello, scary faces whatever. We are so looking forward to seeing all of you. The staff will be handing out the candy with masks of our own and some really cool blue gloves.

VFW haunted house scholarship fundraiser

MEEKER | Come by 290 4th St. in Meeker on Oct. 31 between 5-10 p.m. for a socially distanced Halloween Haunted House to help support the VFW scholarship program. A suggested donation of $2/person or $10/family, with a non-perishable food item will be accepted for admission and a door prize.

COVID-19 testing options

RBC | COVID-19 testing is now being offered at Rangely Public Health. Rio Blanco County Public Health and Environment offer COVID-19 testing for all citizens who are symptomatic and / or have had a known exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 and would like a test. Please call RBC Public Health to schedule an appointment. In Meeker call 878-9520, Rangely call 878-9525. When possible, tests are performed prior to 11:30 a.m.
The designated COVID-19 testing area is the South parking lot in both Meeker and Rangely. When arriving for your appointment, please remain in your vehicle and a Public Health nurse will assist you.
If you are in need of a COVID-19 test for clearance for travel or part of your preoperative guidelines, please reach out to Pioneers Medical Center, 970-878-9796, or the Rangely District Hospital at 970-620-3969.
For further information, please contact the Rio Blanco County Public Health & Environment Department at 870-878-9520.

ERBM program updates

MEEKER | Calling all 7-and-under year olds to attend the annual Itty Bitty Spooktacular Pool Party on Friday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to noon at the MRC pool. Must be supervised in the water by someone 13 years of age or older.

Registration deadline for Robotics 2 is Friday, Oct. 30. This program is for 9-16 year olds with 9-13 year olds requiring instructor approval. Call guest services at 970-878-3403.

Come dressed up for Halloween and trick-or-treat along Main St. at our annual Pumpkin Eats n’ Treats on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 3-5 p.m. Due to social distancing protocols, look for the ERBM arch to start the line for gathering goodies from our local organizations and vendors. There will not be a costume parade this year.

On Nov. 2 our third session of fall fitness begins. Check out the Line-Up for various class options.

Adult Tap Dance class registration deadline is Nov. 5.

Upcoming free legal clinic

RBC | Wednesday, Nov. 11 from 2-5 p.m. Contact your local library at 970-878-5911 to be added to the sign-up sheet. Despite the COVID-19 closures of libraries across Colorado, all Virtual Pro Se Clinic (VPC) clinics are being held as scheduled. As a work-around, instead of clinic patrons coming to your local public library (which has limited access), your local library staff will schedule all appointments. It is especially important to provide a reliable phone number, so the volunteer attorney can call the clinic patron’s telephone directly, during scheduled clinic hours.
