Obituary: Estella “Elaine” Webber

Elaine Webber

Estella “Elaine” Webber was born on Dec. 13,1938, to Antone Bryan (Whitey) and Mary Jean Eliasen on the Sleepy Cat Ranch. Elaine was the second of 15 children in the Eliasen family. She was raised in Rio Blanco County and graduated from the Meeker High School in 1956.

On Nov. 7, 1958, she married Ray Webber from Steamboat Springs, and they lovingly raised their five children. The Webber family moved to Craig in 1975, Elaine worked as a cook, and a waitress, and was a longtime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved cooking and making candies, banana bread, chokecherry jelly, and homemade wine. She also loved to knit and crochet making hundreds of hats and mittens which she donated to schools and those in need. She enjoyed making quilts for those she loved.

Elaine loved working in her yard, as well as camping and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Mary and Dan Williams, Donna Webber, Alan Webber, Kathy and Darrell Norskog and Brian and David Webber, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ray, great-grandson Layne Grajeda, sister Liz DeVore, brothers Earl, Ellis and Elton Eliasen, nephews Scott Anding, Justin C. Eliasen, Matthew Richardson, and niece Brandi Jennings.

Elaine passed away at her home Feb. 4, 2021, with her family at her side.

At her request no funeral service will be held, but a celebration of her life will be held this summer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Elaine’s memory to BUST of Steamboat in care of Grant Mortuary.
