  • This is the season of the year when an appropriate shroud for some people would be the winter underwear they discarded too soon.
  • A larger number of fine shade and fruit trees will be planted in Meeker and vicinity this spring than usual. We hope the good work in this line will continue, but there is not much use in planting trees without provision is made for caring for them.

  • Another important public issue was the town’s policy on termination and the grievance procedure. Some candidates defended the so-called “fire at will” policy, saying that the town is a business, and should be run like one.
  • “Our town is at a crossroads of change,” said Williams. Williams cited a change in demographics, in which people are generally moving from the cities to the small towns. Rangely is ripe to cash in on the change, and the future town council will be in a position to reap great rewards.
  • The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued a list of the top six communicable diseases which can be reduced by handwashing — hepatitis A, salmonella, shigella, giardia, a strain of E. coli and viral gastroenteritis.
