RANGELY | The “cup” is the Rio Blanco County Cup, a traveling trophy which is displayed in the clubhouse of the winning team of a match-play formatted tournament played between golfers from Meeker and Rangely.
The Rio Blanco County Cup was first hosted in Rangely in 2007. On June 26 and 27 this year at Cedar Ridges, Rangely and Meeker battled it out for “the cup”. Sixty players, 30 from each town, played a Ryder Cup Style format. A total of two nine-hole sessions on Saturday and one 18-hole session on Sunday were played.
