Stonecroft event postponed 

MEEKER | The Stonecroft Ministries Rio Blanco Christian Women’s Connection event that was set for Sept. 1 at the Episcopal Community Center has been postponed until further notice. New date to be determined. 

MACC youth

theater auditions 

 MEEKER | Meeker Arts and Cultural Council’s youth theater will perform Bugsy Malone Jr. this fall. Children in third through eighth grade are welcome to participate. 

Auditions are set for Friday, Sept. 3 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Meeker High School Auditorium. There is a $20 audition fee. If you’d like to be considered for a part with solos and lines, please prepare a song and a reading of your choice. 

If you can’t make it to auditions but would like to be in the play, text Shana Holliday at 970-987-9299. 

Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, Sept. 7 and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6–8 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Performances are scheduled for Nov. 18, 19 and 20 at the Meeker High School auditorium. 

Free legal clinic 

MEEKER | Need legal advice? Schedule an appointment during the next free legal clinic at the Meeker Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 2-5 p.m. Call 970-878-5911 to be added to the sign-up sheet. You’ll need to provide a reliable phone number so the volunteer attorney can call during scheduled clinic hours. 

MHS Class of 1980 reunion 

MEEKER | The Meeker High School Class of 1980 reunion is set for Saturday, Sept. 4 from around noon to at least 8 p.m. at the Meeker Golf Course. Meat will be provided, please bring a side dish to share. 

RHS Class of 1990 reunion 

RANGELY | The RHS Class of 1990 is having their 31st reunion in Rangely during Septemberfest, Sept. 3–6. 

Rangely football game on Friday, Rangely Camper Park on Saturday, float decorating at Bell’s on Sunday, parade on Monday. For more info, contact Julie Lane Bockelman, 970-270-2296. All classes are encouraged to attend!!! 

Old Timers reminder 

MEEKER | Just a reminder to all those interested in RBCPA Old Timers picnic at 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 (Saturday afternoon). Just bring your own sack lunch to City Circle Park (by the fish pond). We will hold this meeting for all members and those who wish to become members. This will be a general business meeting to discuss and vote on certain guidelines now in effect. 

This general meeting is an open invitation all in the community over 30-years-old. We would really like to keep the Old timers celebration as a highlighted community event, and would appreciate your attendance. 

If you would like to volunteer for any of the executive positions before the fall meeting, contact Roberta Watt 970- 220-2247, or Daryl LeFevre 307-272-0763. 

Meeker Library book club 

MEEKER | The book club will be reading “Being Mortal” by Atul Gawande. We will discuss the book on Monday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. All are welcome to join in the fun.
