MEEKER | The White River Alliance is proud to announce that MacKenzie Keetch from Meeker High School and Andrew Dorris from Rangely High School are the recipients of the White River Alliance Conservation Scholarship award this year. These students have shown leadership in the conservation of our resources and the White River and have been awarded the Anthony Weiss Leadership Award of $1,000 each to their educational institution.
These scholarships would not be possible without the generous contributions from Mike and Debbie Frazier, John and Mary Taylor, Dr. Bob Dorsett, Fred Colby, Vance Herring, Deirdre Macnab, Dave and Martha Cole and others.
For our next gathering coming up we are excited to have State Senator Dylan Roberts joining us Jun 6. Senator Roberts is currently the chair of the Senate Ag Committee and water will be a big part of the discussion, as well as our local Senator covering most of the Western Slope.
The White River Alliance will be hosting a Riparian Restoration workshop the weekend of Oct 2. More information will be posted to sign up in this informative workshop for people interested in how to revitalize and build healthy riparian using low cost solutions.
