The winner of the 39th annual (apologies for our numerical error last week!) Meeker Classic Sheepdog Championship Trials is handler Jamie Spring and her dog Monster from Union Center, South Dakota. Spring was sponsored by Rhinehart Oil. The pair finished with a final score of 135. Classic Director Maym Cunningham commented on this year’s event: “It was a great trial — seemed like everyone was happy to be here, both locals and folks from afar. A true sense of community from every faction of the event. Our gate was really good and I know the handlers made a concerted effort to shop downtown.The Jammin’ Lamb Fest was well attended. Everyone joined in to celebrate the Colorado Grown and Raised meal of lamb, corn, potatoes, Greek salad, peach crisp, melon and rolls. The youth of our community were an integral part of the setup, staging and running the event. A great face and representation of what we are all about.
