In what’s become a running theme this season, the Rangely lady Panthers gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 81-18 victory over Caprock Academy on the road. Winning may never get old, but Rangely sure is getting used to it with their 12th in a row.
Rangely got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emmeree Wagner, who scored 16 points along with three steals, and Ryann Mergelman who scored 15 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Miah Wren with 11 points and five steals and Ashlynn Ducey with nine points, nine steals and nine rebounds.
Rangely’s victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. Rangely will be playing at home against Vail Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Caprock Academy, they didn’t take long to hit the court again: they’ve already played their next contest, a 41-37 victory vs. Ridgeway on Feb. 12.
