RBC | The Area Agency on Aging (AAA) received emergency funds through the COVID-19 CARES Act to help in the delivery of services to older adults in Garfield, Mesa, Moffat, Rio Blanco and Routt Counties during COVID-19. The AAA has $100,000 available with grant awards being capped at a maximum of $15,000. An organization may apply for funding if the AAA is not already funding the organization for a particular service(s). After a review of existing services, needs, and available resources, the Area Agency on Aging will make awards in the areas of: congregate nutrition programs, home delivered meal programs, material aid—food, transportation services or outreach to combat social isolation.

The amount allocated is subject to change pending availability of funds due to Federal or State budget developments. Applications will be made available until Monday, Sept. 7, 2020 at 5 p.m.
Applications will be reviewed and notifications made to programs tentatively by Sept. 21, 2020. A Notice of Grant Awards (NOGA) will be issued with an operating period of Oct. 15, 2020, through Sept. 30, 2021, or for a period that funds are available.
The Area Agency on Aging reserves the right to reject any or all applications and reserves the right to waive minor irregularities in the applications. An award will be made on the basis of an application that best serves the interests of older adults according to the judgment of the Area Agency on Aging.
