Asbestos abatement project will impact Meeker Post Office hours and public access beginning Aug. 12

MEEKER | The Meeker Post Office will undergo an asbestos abatement project. Abatement will begin on Monday, Aug. 12, and is expected to last 4-6 weeks.

As the abatement presents a health hazard, the Post Office must be closed to the public and to the Postal employees until the project is complete.

To ensure continuity of service, the Post Office will be operating out of a Mobile Postal Unit in the back parking lot. There will be some changes to the hours in which retail transactions are available and an extension of time that PO Box customers will be able to collect mail and parcels.

More detailed information will be provided soon.  Beth Fox, Postmaster of Meeker, and the United States Postal Service thank you for your patience and understanding throughout this process.
