RANGELY I After a 40-6 whipping of the Mancos Bluejays on Yeager Field the previous weekend, the Rangely Panther football team is currently undefeated. This week, the Panthers will play their first game away from home, traveling to Dove Creek.

MEEKER I The results were different this year than last, when the Meeker Cowboy football team played the 2A Roaring Fork Rams, as the Meeker Cowboys shut out the Rams, 46-0, in Starbuck Stadium on Friday.

RANGELY I The Del Norte Tigers, more than six hours from the south-central part of the state for their first game in the 8-man division, played the hometown Rangely Panthers and were sent on a long trip home after a 30-26 defeat.
Meeker gridders kick off season with 26-14 win; will play Rams on Friday
MEEKER I The Meeker High School Cowboys opened the football season by defeating the Rye Thunderbolts, 26-14, on Saturday afternoon. Coach’s team captures golf classic; Cowboy gridders play host to Rye
MEEKER I The Meeker High School football team had two-a-days last week, then Saturday it hosted the 10th annual Cowboy Kickoff Classic golf tournament. This Saturday it will host Rye in Starbuck Stadium in the first football game of the season.
Familiar teams playing for co-ed softball championship
RBC I The regular season is over, the tournament has started and the championship game was played last night between familiar foes, the defending champions, Ace Trucking of Meeker and last year’s runners-up from Rangely, Prater’s Plumbing and Heating.
