Elks plan ‘Youth Week’

RANGELY — The benevolent and protective order of the Elks has designated the first week in May as Youth Week to honor America’s junior citizens for their accomplishments.

Public to review horse herd removal

MEEKER — The Bureau of Land Management released an environmental assessment for public review which addresses the removal plan for a small herd of wild horses south of Rangely. Under the proposed plan, BLM would begin gathering approximately 150 wild horses in the West Douglas herd area this fall.

“Home of” 411: May 1, 2008

RANGELY — Rangely residents Dean and Leana Cox are this week’s “home of” honorees. They have lived in Rangely 16 years and will celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary in November. Dean is a self-employed rancher. Leana is the Learning Resource Center coordinator for the CNCC Library.
