BMS wrestlers finish fourth

MEEKER | The Barone Middle School wrestling team finished fourth last Saturday in the Eagle Valley tournament, which featured a 16-man bracket in each of the weights. The young Cowboys took 19 wrestlers and seven placed in the top four, including three champions.
Kelton Turner, Ty Goedert and Tyson Portwood all won individual titles for the Cowboys. Portwood had to wrestle his seventh-grade twin brother Dalton in the championship match, while eighth-graders Austin Richardson and Tucker Ercanbrack also finished as runners-up. Jeremy Woodward finished fourth in his bracket.
Lane Anderson won three matches, Liam Deming, Ivan Carrillo, Porter Hossack, Zach Eskelson and Dax Sheridan all won two matches but did not place.
Meeker finished with 24 pins in the tournament and will wrestle in Oak Creek Saturday.
