MEEKER | Meeker School District (MSD) is shutting down through March 29. All school activities, including parent-teacher conferences, have been cancelled.
“The primary reason for the school closure is to aid our medical facilities in responding to any community spread,” a letter from Superintendent Chris Selle stated.
The closure will overlap the currently scheduled spring break by one week, and the MSD Administration Team will meet March 26 to determine if the closure will be extended.
The announcement that COVID-19 is circulating in the community bears a repeat of RBC Public Health’s recommendations:
???? Wash your hands regularly. Don’t touch your face. Don’t sneeze or cough on people or surfaces. Practice social distancing. Avoid groups. Keep yourself healthy–drink water, eat nutritious food and get plenty of rest.
???? If you have symptoms of an illness, STAY HOME.
???? If you have underlying medical conditions or are immunocompromised, STAY HOME.
???? If you have the symptoms of COVID-19 (fever above 100.4 degrees, shortness of breath) and feel ill enough to need medical assistance, call the hospital FIRST so proper precautions can be taken.
