MEEKER I A power outage occurred Friday night, turning the lights out, literally, on the town of Meeker.
But it didn’t last long.
The blackout occurred at 10:09 p.m. Power was restored a few minutes later, at 10:11 p.m.
“The problem was a protective device failed to clear a fault west of the Rangely area on the 138KV transmission system,” said Dick Welle, general manager for White River Electric Cooperative. “The greater Meeker area was affected as well as our western distribution area.”
