On Saturday, Feb. 13 the Panther Country 4-H Community Club hosted their first annual Cabin Fever Classic Cardboard Sled Derby at Cedar Ridges Golf Course. In true Colorado weather fashion, the week prior brought high temperatures and melting snow, but a blizzard on race day. That didn’t stop the youngsters and parents from entering their homemade toboggans in the contest though. Jesus Guzman with his silver Jeep sled won the prestigious “Most Creative Toboggan” category. Daxton Wilczek, Kolton Wilczek, Dusty Hall, and Heather Hall were the winners of the fastest sled category in their respective age classes. The 4-H club would like to thank judge Roy Gilbert, the Western Rio Blanco Metropolitan Recreation and Park District for the use of Cedar Ridges, and all the folks that came out to participate in the fun.
