RBC I The field for the town elections got smaller last week.
Paul Tucker withdrew his candidacy for the Rangely Town Council, and Chuck Mills did the same for the Meeker Town Board.
“The town is canceling the election,” said Lisa Cook, town clerk. “Chuck filed a Certificate of Withdrawal from Nomination, leaving no more candidates than offices to fill. The board passed a resolution canceling the election.”
In Rangely, there will still be an election. The ballots were mailed out March 19 and need to be returned by April 6.
There are five candidates running for three council positions: Ed Ballegeer, Ann Brady, Clayton Gohr, Lisa Hatch and Elaine Urie. Also, there are two candidates for mayor in Rangely: Paula Davis and Dan Eddy.
