Overton returns as owner of Meeker Auto Parts
MEEKER | Steve Overton is back in town as owner of Meeker Auto Parts, formerly owned by Bob Coquoz. Steve, who for the past five years has been doing commercial construction in Gilbert, Ariz., used to own the NAPA auto parts store with his brother Doug, from 1982 to 1998.
PMC board OKs ’09 budget, buys digital mammography equipment
MEEKER — At the monthly Pioneers Medical Center Board of Directors meeting Dec. 11, the board approved the 2009 management plan and budget and the purchase of digital mammography equipment.
LeBlanc is Wyoming’s wrestler of the week
MEEKER — Meeker High School graduate Joe LeBlanc, currently a redshirt freshman on the University of Wyoming’s wrestling team, finished third in the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.

Valley Motel, Kinnamon top lights in Meeker Holiday Lighting Contest
MEEKER — The Chamber of Commerce’s Holiday Lighting Contest, judged Dec. 18, had 17 entries. Three businesses entered the contest this year and all three deserve applause for their hard work.

Meeker declares emergency; asks for proposal to get well working
MEEKER — After determining the existence of a public health and welfare emergency, Meeker’s Board of Trustees gave the go-ahead Dec. 10 to bypass the bid process and request a work proposal in order to move forward on the town’s water pump installation project.
