Library bookin’ to new home

Building purchased for $700K MEEKER — The town’s public library is on the move. However, it won’t be moving very far. Two blocks, to be exact. Sometime in August, the library expects to be in a new facility, said Mike Bartlett, library director.

County weighs future of RV Park

MEEKER — Rio Blanco County commissioners Monday offered no immediate solutions to the plight of residents of Love’s RV Park, who are faced with having to move when the park’s permit expires at the end of July.

Board to choose site tonight

MEEKER — After months of community debate, the Meeker School District Re-1 School Board appears likely to make a final selection for the site of a new elementary school at tonight’s meeting. The board will meet at 7 p.m. in the district building, 555 Garfield St.

Equine Extravaganza Open a success

MEEKER — The second annual Equine Extravaganza was held June 7 and was a fun time for all! The open horse show is a fund raiser for the Painted Ponies 4-H club and is proving year after year to be a success.

Local students earn scholarships

RBC — Matthew Herrera of Rangely High School and Hope Merritt of Meeker High School both earned a 2008 EnCana High School Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement, strong commitment to the community and determination to pursue a career in the oil and gas industry.
