Pika thriving at high elevations

RBC I The pika, one of the cutest and toughest little critters in the Rockies, appears to be thriving throughout Colorado’s high country.
 
While news stories have circulated recently that pikas are disappearing from the landscape, Colorado Parks and Wildlife researchers have found populations well-distributed throughout Colorado’s mountains.

Game bird hunting seminar offered

RBC I Novice bird hunters are invited to attend Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s “Upland Game Bird Hunting 101” seminar from 6 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 28 at the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Hunter Education Building, 711 Independent Avenue in Grand Junction.

BLM delays wild horse roundup

RBC I The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has agreed to delay the proposed roundup of more than 800 wild horses in Wyoming to allow the court time to rule on a motion for a temporary restraining order and/or preliminary injunction filed late Friday by several environmental groups.
