Rangely honors players at football awards banquet
RANGELY I Even though the Panthers didn’t win a game, they had some outstanding individual performances. Rangely finished the football season with an 0-9 record, but senior running back/linebacker Cole Barlow’s efforts were noticed by opposing Western Slope League coaches, who named him to the all-conference first team.
Panthers end season at 0-9
RANGELY I They didn’t win a game. But they didn’t quit. “It was a tough year,” said Rangely football coach Tim Galloway after the Panthers finished the season without a win. “But they kept fighting. They kept battling.”
Panthers look for initial win in final home game
RANGELY I Friday will be the last football game for Rangely’s senior players. It will also be the last chance for them to win a game this season. The Panthers, 0-8, will play their final game Friday at home against Paonia. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. at Yaeger Stadium. Senior players[Read More…]
Rangely’s ‘few good plays’ aren’t enough against rivals
RANGELY I Ah, the what-ifs. That’s the kind of thing that can drive a coach crazy. “I counted two touchdown passes that were dropped that were easily scores,” Rangely coach Tim Galloway said after looking at the film of last Friday’s 39-8 homecoming loss to rival Meeker. “Making those plays,[Read More…]
Hotchkiss pins 44-6 loss on Panthers Friday night
RANGELY I For the second time in three games, the Panthers won the second half. It’s the first half that’s the killer. “We’re pretty good at winning the second half,” coach Tim Galloway said. “We just can’t put the whole thing together.”
Panthers put up 18 points, but still fall
RANGELY I When you’re 0-4, you look for the positive wherever you can find it. Like scoring 18 points, which represented a season high. The Panthers scored more points than they have in any previous game this season, but they still gave up 49 in a home loss Saturday to[Read More…]
Coal Ridge rolls Panthers 52-8
RANGELY I At least the Panthers can say this: They won the second half. Rangely outscored Coal Ridge 8-7 in the third and fourth quarters last Friday in a home game. However, the Titans dominated the first two quarters, outscoring the Panthers 45-0.
Basalt rocks Rangely 51-0
RANGELY I There wasn’t a lot to say after a 51-0 loss. There wasn’t a lot to say after the opening kickoff. “It was 28-0 after the first quarter, and it was pretty much done,” said Rangely coach Tim Galloway.
RHS coach: We beat ourselves in opener
RANGELY I The scoreboard showed 39-14, in favor of the other team. But that’s not how Rangely coach Tim Galloway saw it. “I think we beat ourselves,” Galloway said after Friday’s loss to Altamont, Utah. “I believe we’re a better football team than what we showed.”
Panthers host Utah team Friday
Numbers are important in sports. Especially the ones on the scoreboard. But it’s not the only measure of a team, or of an athlete. That’s why Rangely football coach Tim Galloway likes his guys. Even though he may not have a lot of them.
Shorthanded Panthers fall 47-14
RANGELY I The team total on the scoreboard matched the number of players who suited up for the game. Neither was enough. The Panthers, who suited up a season-low 14 players, were the homecoming opponent for the second week in a row last Friday, and the result was the same:[Read More…]
