Chamber to produce commercial

MEEKER I Meeker Chamber of Commerce executive director Katelin Cook announced that the Meeker Chamber of Commerce has contracted with CV&A Films to produce a television commercial about the national tourism potential for the White River valley and Meeker area. This commercial is being filmed in various locales such as the OHV trails system, the White River Museum and Milk Creek Battlefield, the upper White River National Forest recreational areas, local historical and colorful facilities and personalities. Also included are the major events of interest such as the Range Call Fourth of July celebration, the Meeker Pageant, the Meeker Classic Sheepdog Trials, the county fair and much more. The National Capitol Christmas Tree Project will also be a major tourist event in 2012.
Popular tourism attractions include hunting and fishing, guiding and outfitting providers, hiking and camping, snowmobiling and cross country skiing, nationally renowned creative artists such as sculptors, painters, photographers, performing arts as advocated by the Meeker Arts and Cultural Council and much more. Jason Hightower, Meeker Elementary School principal, who also narrates the Meeker Pageant, will be featured as a commentator on the historical and cultural elements of the production.
The objective for the media presentation is to increase awareness of the tourism opportunities afforded by the White River valley and thus attract patrons from throughout the nation and world for these unique venues and opportunities. An increase in tourism will greatly improve the local economy and thus the potential for employment and growth of business and supporting services necessary to amenities for visitors and patrons.
Funding for the project has been provided by the Meeker Lodging Tax Board.
The commercial messages will air on the Altitude Channel, You Tube, the Meeker Chamber website and many other national and international media outlets affording optimal exposure and promotion for the Meeker area. The Meeker chamber will own production and release rights for the media presentations.
