Once again, the annual “Christmas Store” event was brought to residents of the Walbridge Memorial Wing at Pioneers Medical Center in Meeker on Friday, Dec. 13. Residents there were given the opportunity to shop for Christmas gifts by simply making their way down the hall and picking out just the right assortment of this and that to express their love and appreciation for everyone in their personal support group. Everything in the Christmas Store is provided free to the individuals being served. On that same day, the entire store was picked up and moved into town to provide the same service to the low income, elderly, and disabled persons residing at the Meeker Housing Authority facilities. The “Christmas Store” is just another example of community support for thoughtful and caring efforts by local folks to make our town a most delightful place to live in Western Colorado. Emmanuel Baptist Church of Meeker would like to thank everyone who helped in this year’s efforts including the following businesses and individuals: Country Raised, Karolyn Wakefield, Meeker Drug, Meeker Embroidery, Meeker General Mercantile, Nana Goose, Open Range Cowboy Church, PS Salon & Spa, Parts City, Stacie Backes-Kincher, Valley Ace Hardware, Watts Ranch Market and the White River Electric Association. Also, apologies and appreciation to everyone not listed for their individual contributions.
