Circle Park and riverfront project progress update

MEEKER | If you haven’t seen the boulders and dirt work happening on the south side of the bridge at the bottom of 5th Street, then you are in for a surprise. Since starting in late January 2025, X-Field Services has been making great headway with the construction of new access points and bank stabilization along the White River at Circle Park, as well as at the end of Third and 10th streets.

A coordinated effort between the Town of Meeker and ERBM Recreation & Park District, the project has a $1.6 million dollar cost that is mostly funded through a Great Outdoors Colorado Community Impact grant, as well as state funds from the Office of Just Transition, Energy Impact, and Water Conservation Board.

The project goal is to provide public access to the White River that includes an ADA accessible concrete ramp and two sets of flagstone steps at Circle Park, plus additional soft-surface access ramps at Third and 10th streets. The secondary goal of the project is to stabilize the riverbank at all three locations to prevent further erosion, while avoiding any encroachment within the river. Lastly, the plan is to overall improve Circle Park amenities for everyone to enjoy for years to come.

Thank you for your patience while the improvements are underway. We look forward to providing a beautiful and accessible recreational destination for our community later in 2025.
