BLM to Host Public Scoping Meetings to Discuss the Notice of Intent to Prepare a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement for its Oil Shale/Tar Sands Leasing Program The U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is proposing to begin a new public planning process related to oil shale and tar sands. Specifically, the BLM is publishing in the Federal Register a Notice of Intent to Prepare a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) and Possible Land Use Plan Amendments for Allocation of Oil Shale and Tar Sands Resources on Lands Administered by the Bureau of Land Management in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. BLM invites you to a public meeting that will provide an opportunity for interested citizens and organizations to provide input on the significant issues and alternatives to be considered in the preparation of thedraft programmatic EIS. We need to hear from you to ensure that we address all relevant issues and alternatives. PUBLIC NOTICE – Enterprise Gas Processing, LLC (Enterprise) has applied for a Special Use Permit for the construction and operation of a new gas pipeline from a point in Garfield County on the existing Piceance Creek Pipeline located in Section 34, T 4S, R96W to the Greasewood Hub located in Section 5, T2S, R96W. The Piceance Creek Pipeline Loop Project would consist of 20.8 miles of 36-inch diameter pipeline. The project will utilize the existing Pipe Yard near Rio Blanco Lake and the Park and Ride area near Meeker. These applications will be considered by the Rio Blanco County Planning Commission on April 28, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Rio Blanco County Administrative Offices, 200 Main Street, Meeker, Colorado.
