RBC | It’s time for the 2019 budget.

Budget requests have been submitted to the budget and finance office.  Budget workshops are held between Oct. 18 and Oct. 30 with the final budget approved in December.

The Clerk and Recorder’s estimated annual revenue is $206,000. Estimated expenses are $38,810 for general office costs and $49,000 for election costs for a budget of close to $100,000 per year.  If you add in employee wages and benefits you get an approximate total budget of $579,000.

The Election Department receives 90 cents per active elector from the Secretary of State for a November General Election. If Special Districts have an issue on the ballot they must pay for certain expenses and their payment would offset some, but not all, of the county’s expenses. Most of the revenue comes from the Motor Vehicle Department.
