The following CNCC students will be recognized for their work with PTK:
Geraldo Caballero
Hello, Watashi Wa Gerardo Desu, I am a sophomore at Colorado Northwestern Community college, and I’m currently working toward my Associate of Science in marine science. I strive to go to the ocean, and I am extremely interested in learning Japanese as a third language. My plans for the future are all tied together, and ultimately I wish to end up in Japan helping study sharks as well as working with others to fight finning. Japan is not the only place I plan to go either, locations such as Australia’s ‘shark island,’ Hawaii and lower parts of Africa are also places that I want to help study sharks.
Jolene Holtzfaster
I am a dental hygiene student at Colorado Northwestern Community College. I will be graduating with my Associate of Applied Science in May and hope to continue my education to receive my Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene. I love Colorado and all its outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and exploring. I am thankful for my friends and family that have encouraged me and helped me persevere during my educational experience.

Hello,
my name is Darlene Gonzales. I was born April 26, 1990, and raised in Walden, Colo. I attended two years of college at Mesa State College completing all of my prerequisites for nursing. At the end of the two years I applied and transferred to CNCC to get my associate’s degree of nursing, which I will graduate from in May 2013. I plan on continuing my education after I graduate to become a nurse practitioner in either women’s health/midwifery or pediatrics. In the meantime, I will be working in Craig, Colo., where I plan to live.
